Happy Earth Day. Have you considered a Green Wedding?

Green House at Hermitage Hill

It has been quite a while since I last posted, as we have had so many projects underway. However, I could not let Earth Day come and go without writing a little post about this.

So Earth Day has crept up on us again. It seems to mark the coming of spring and according to the official site for Earth Day, we are now embarking on the 45th anniversary of this day. While this may seem hard to believe, it is well worth reminding people that we all need to do our part to keep our planet healthy and alive – it is the only one we have.  Many people making small contributions can make a sizeable impact for this “place we call home”.

At Hermitage Hill, we practice many of our own green initiatives – from recycling and harvesting water to starting plantings in a green house, heated with biochar (you can read more about this here). As a green venue, we also promote the idea of hosting “Eco-friendly Events” – from weddings to corporate functions, to everything in between.

Visit our website to download our free Green Event Planning Resource Guide. We offer several suggestions to make your event a eco-friendly affair- from plating your meals on china versus using disposables (it is the small things that add up). This resource guide is great for brides and couples that are interested in hosting their own green wedding. We have so many resources in our local area that it makes sense to employ these local providers. Happy Earth Day and happy planning!
