Southern Living has featured Hermitage Hill as one of the “Top Wedding Barn Venues” and with good reason. Not only will you find spacious views, comfortable air-conditioned spaces and goregous ceremony sites. Hermitage Hill also offers brides and grooms a unique experience, like our signature Carrot Cocktail Hour. This one hour experience allows guests to meet and experience the special horses of our farm.
MOROCCO (REGISTERED CLYDESDALE STALLION)
Morocco of Boulder Bluff Farm is the beefy stallion who welcomes everyone as they enter. Going on eight now, Morocco came to us at a mere 6 months of age. We purchased him from a Canadian breeder and he is an icon here at Hermitage Hill.
FABOS FINALE (REGISTERED EGYPTIAN ARABIAN)
Fabos is an Arabian prince by his own estimation and everyone will concur. Fabi, is a Sheykh Obeyd Egyptian Arabian and was quite famous in his prime. He was the last stallion from the famous Fabo, owned by Walter Schimanksi of Arizona. Fabi has a special personality and does not act as though he is 22 years old.
CAROLINA (CLYDESDALE X THOROUGHBRED)
Carolina is a bay Clydesdale cross and she is quite a specimen. Standing at 17.1 hands high; Carolina is a bay, with a kind eye, lots of bone, and a rather dominant personality. She was born on the farm is now coming on eight years.
Bailey is a large Clydesdale mare, standing at 17.4 hands. She is also a rescue, coming to us from Pennsylvania where she worked as a carriage horse. She is enjoying her retirement here with us and enjoying visiting with folks during our Carrot Cocktail hours.
PEDRO (LEBANON DONKEY)
Pedro is our standard donkey. He is the eyes, ears, and brains of our mare herd. Watching over the mares is Pedro’s job and he takes it extremely seriously. If stray animals wander into Pedro’s field, he makes it his mission to exterminate them. Donkeys are extremely intelligent and act as natural herders.
